How sweet is stevia?

Where does stevia come from?

Stevia extract comes from the Stevia rebaudiana plant, an herb in the chrysanthemum family that grows wild as a small shrub in parts of Paraguay and Brazil. The glycosides in its leaves, including up to 10% stevioside, account for its amazing sweetness, making it unique among the nearly 300 species of stevia plants.

How is Sunectar® different from SunnyDew®?

Sunectar® is a concentrated raw extract of stevia, while SunnyDew® is a purified extract concentrate of stevia. Compared to Sunectar®, SunnyDew® has a lighter color and a higher concentration of the sweet-tasting component of the stevia plant.
