Spring 2019 Regional Incentive Trip
Global News
Held at the sleekly modern Sheraton Crescent Hotel in Phoenix, Arizona, April 10–13, the Spring 2019 Regional Incentive Trip attracted over 100 Independent Business Owners (IBOs) from the USA and Canada. The three-day event kicked off with a welcome reception where IBOs and their guests mingled in a casual setting, enjoying delicious hors d'oeuvres, Sunrider® beverages, and a beautiful desert backdrop.
The second day began with a meeting hosted by IBO leaders Donna Darrah and Aaron Shuster, who welcomed everyone and talked about their “Why” (i.e., what fulfills you and drives your passion to do the Sunrider business). Next, Dr. Reuben Chen, Sunrider’s vice president of global business development, introduced himself to the audience and talked about his role in Sunrider and experiences as a medical doctor.
Tracy Casey, Sunrider’s business development manager, began her training session with a “Why Factor Workshop,” showing IBOs how to create and share their personal Why. Tracy informed everyone that all the information to do this is contained in the Fast Start Brochure, including how to share your Why in four steps and your story in two minutes.
Everyone then had an opportunity to create or update their own Why, which led to a few IBOs sharing theirs. This entire exercise illustrated how a clear, purposeful message can help IBOs stay motivated and on track.
The second workshop covered “Prospecting vs. Recruiting.” Audience participation with roleplaying helped reinforce key points in a lively, entertaining way, while providing ample tips and takeaways.
In the afternoon session, Dr. Reuben led a discussion focusing on the “Quality and Unique Aspects of Sunrider’s Products.” Once again, Dr. Reuben brought his passion to the table while speaking extensively on this topic. It was a highly engaging, interactive session that allowed IBOs to ask questions about products, including about benefits and ingredients. Attendees appreciated this exclusive opportunity to receive information first-hand from Dr. Reuben and took advantage of it by taking lots of notes.
“Planning S.M.A.R.T.” was the final topic of the day, and Tracy prepared special handouts to outline the principles comprising this actionable acronym. She urged IBOs to “be S.M.A.R.T in planning your goal; know and truly understand where you are today and where you want to be at a specific time.” She explained how writing things down and sharing them with others is a good way to increase accountability. Tracy reminded everyone that worksheets on this presentation topic are available for free on the Sunrider Business Center, along with materials from other presentations.
The day was topped off with a delicious dinner and an inspiring IBO recognition program, where everyone was excited and dressed to impress. Camera flashes lit up the otherwise softly lit garden venue, with IBOs taking photos to capture memories and post on social media. To conclude the evening, Dr. Reuben Chen presented recognition for rank advancement, high achievement in sponsoring, and new IBOs.
Dr. Reuben Chen got the final day off to an early and energizing start by leading a morning SunFit® workout, which got everyone revitalized and ready to take on the day. The main activity was a visit to the Odysea in the Desert, a one-of-a-kind entertainment destination whose attractions include a Butterfly Wonderland, a Laser & Mirror Maze, and the Odysea Aquarium. Needless to say, everyone had a great time experiencing it all!
Attendees left enriched with valuable information, fresh inspiration, new friendships, and priceless memories. Incentive trips like this are a great way for Sunrider to reward IBOs for their hard work, dedication, and accomplishments.
The IBOs also left with a renewed determination and the tools and knowledge to reach out to more people and share the products and opportunity to make a difference in people's lives. And they’re more driven than ever to bring more people to the Grand Convention in Las Vegas this September, so they too can be part of the fun, exciting, and life-changing “Sunrider movement.”
Here’s some of the feedback attendees shared:
“I learned so much at the event! Just writing these things down [her “Why”] stirs my emotions…I feel excited! Martin Luther King Jr. said, ‘I have a dream,’ and he stirred the emotions of the 250,000 people who showed up for his talk that day! The truth is that GPS will take you where you want to go, but it’s ‘life’s purpose’ that gets you there quicker...When the Why is clear, the how is easy!” Wendy Huff, Hero
“I also got to speak on stage and was recognized for my achievements. This was exciting and inspiring. My direct sponsor and other leaders on my team were present and showed that they cared about me and my business. I’m part of the Rising Stars team, and we all wore ribbons with medals, so that was really fun and made it easy to meet others in my organization.
“I highly recommend attending any conferences or leadership events that you can. I earned free registration for this Arizona meeting in just a couple months, so set your sights on Vegas, work to earn some of that event, and enjoy the journey either way.” Hester Morrissey, Star Prime
