Dr. Tei-Fu Chen Interviewed by AmCham Magazine
Global News
During a recent business trip throughout Asia, Dr. Tei-Fu Chen, founder and chairman of Sunrider International, was interviewed in Hong Kong by AmCham Magazine, a publication of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Hong Kong. The article is titled “New Dawn for Sunrider” and is featured in the June 2018 issue.
AmCham Hong Kong is one of the largest American Chambers outside the U.S., as well as “the largest international chamber in Hong Kong, and the most dynamic and influential international business organization in the Asia-Pacific region.”
The main aim of Dr. Chen’s tour of Asia, as related in the article, is for Dr. Chen “to pass on a message of corporate renewal to the herbal-product maker’s staff and sales agents.” To ensure that Sunrider prospers in the global economy, he’s on a mission to teach Sunriders “to drop the old thinking and embrace the new thinking.” This process of renewal and “regenerating the business model” means trying to expand beyond the direct-marketing model and aspire to a more diverse and resilient sales model.
Dr. Chen also shares how Sunrider’s appeal is based on what he says are the four principal desires of people: “The first desire is freedom from health problems. If health is one, the rest are zero. Without health, everything goes back to zero. The second desire people have is financial freedom. The third is time freedom. And number four is freedom from worry. Sunrider tries to address all four of these things for people.”
