Pencil eyeliner is easy to apply, tends to have a longer shelf life, and doesn’t dry out. They also create a softer look. They smudge easier than liquid eyeliners and require sharpening to deliver a defined look. Liquid eyeliners tend to last longer and create a more dramatic look. They are trickier to apply (requires practice), dry out faster, and can create a heavy look if improperly applied. It comes down to personal preference.
